Community Service Project

Return to Main Index

Part of the requirement for all First Year Florida students is completion of a community service project. In the past, my classes have participated in such activities as painting on the 34th Street Wall, clean up of legacy trash in UF's natural area, collection of food for a local shelter, etc. We must decide as a class what project we will pursue, and we must all participate in that project -- as a class activity. Failure to participate in this project will effect your course grade drammatically. We will handle this by class committee, and these appointed students will present options in timely fashion. The majority will decide what the class will do. Once decided by majority opinion, everyone must comply.

This was extremely well received last year and served a wide array of local citizens. Here is a link that will give information on this food bank: http://www.afn.org/~afn31208/xhtml/project/index.htm

Clean up of Natural Area on Campus? (excellent result 2 years ago)

Remember, the majority rules:
